THE CHALLENGE
As a direct result of the demise of Rover Group in early 2005, many suppliers had to re-org anise their operations. One such supplier was Stadco Limited based in Shrewsbury. Stadco decided that some of its satellite operations were no longer sustainable. The decision was made to close these operations and move the equipment back to Shrewsbury.
THE SOLUTION
In looking for a partner to help carry out the relocation, Stadco required a company with proven expertise in installation and commissioning. By following the quality system procedures laid out in the ISO9001 accreditation, Crown was able to plan the strip-out, re-installation and commissioning to ensure that the demanding project timing could be met.
THE RESULT
Although several unforeseen difficulties occurred, the planning was sufficiently robust to contain them and the project was eventually completed on time to the customer’s satisfaction.
